Q. Where is the shortcut for launching Web Eyes?
A. There is no shortcut icon because Web Eyes is an Internet Explorer (IE) plug-in. You must open IE in order to see Web Eyes. On the bottom of the IE toolbar you will see the Web Eyes toolbar. Use the toolbar icons to easily increase the size of text, launch the “Read Like a Book” format or open the “Page Control” window.
Q. I’ve installed Web Eyes but I don’t see the toolbar, what should I do?
A. In Internet Explorer, go to “View” and click “Toolbars” select “Web Eyes” and that will toggle “ON” the toolbar.
Q. I still don’t see the Web Eyes toolbar?
A. Go to “View” on the Internet Explorer toolbar, select “Toolbars” and then select “Lock The Toolbars” so that there is NOT a checkmark in front of it. Then go to “View” on the Internet Explorer toolbar, select “Toolbars” and then select “Web Eyes”. The Web Eyes toolbar will now be at the bottom of the Internet Explorer toolbar, as shown above.
Q. I have done both of the above and still don’t see the Web Eyes toolbar?
A. This normally means that the toolbar is there and activated (has a check mark in front of it on the View>Toolbars list), but the toolbar itself is squished off to the side of your toolbar. Look for a double-line that is visible between toolbar sections above and click and hold on the double-line and move it to the left or below and you should see the word “WebEyes” come into view. If not, call our friendly technical support staff and we will help you. 1-800-983-6397.
Q. After installing Web Eyes, how can I remove the toolbar but not uninstall it?
A. In Internet Explorer, go to “View” and click “Toolbars” select “Web Eyes” and that will toggle “OFF” the toolbar.
Q. How can I increase the icon sizes in the toolbar?
A. In the “Read Like a Book” format, pull down the “Format” menu and select “Preferences” (using “Page Control” click the “Pref” button). Under icons select “Use Large Icons” and click “OK”.
Q. The User interface icons, menus and text are not large enough for me. How do I increase them?
May I use black-and-white contrast to suit my reading preferences?
A. This setting is controlled by the Windows operating system. Click on the “Start” button in the bottom left corner of your screen. Choose “Control Panel” and then select “Display” > from the Display window, choose the “Appearance” tab. Under the Scheme pull-down “menu”, select your desired type of settings and click “Apply” before closing the settings.
Q. How can I uninstall Web Eyes?
• Close "Internet Explorer". Click the "Start" button located on the bottom left of your screen, go to "Settings" then click "Control Panel".
(Your computer may go directly from "Start" to "Control Panel".)
• Click on the "Add or Remove Programs" icon. A window will list each program on your computer.
• Scroll and select "Web Eyes Personal Version" then click on "Remove" and follow any additional instructions that may appear on your computer. This completely removes Web Eyes.
